You're Never Gonna Believe Who This Is
Seriously. Listen to this cover of Radiohead's "Optimistic" and see if you can tell who it is. I happen to think it's a great cover, and was totally shocked when I found out who it was.

By the way, I heard this on Brian Ibbott's excellent Coverville podcast. So, if you listen to Coverville and heard it there too (or if by some unbelievable coincidence you own this album), no fair guessing. And if you didn't, well, you should be listening to Coverville.

Bon Jovi?
I'm trying to think who gets that kind of screaming audience these days that isn't The Jonas Brothers.
John Mayer?
I looked it up . . . wow. Though, honestly, I'm not too surprised . . . they came out and joined Phil and Friends for "The Weigh" at a show I saw a while ago when they were popular, and it was actually pretty good.
Carole, this is essentially the Jonas Brothers of the 90s...
Hanson, of MMM...Bop fame?
It is, in fact Hanson, from their live album from a few years ago.
The Hanson story is pretty interesting -- they've worked hard to get over the teen idol phenomenon and, while they don't sell many records these days, they definitely are still making music and it seems to be pretty decent.
